Aberdeen City Centre Parish Grouping

The Grouping

The City Centre Grouping consists of three churches, each with its own Kirk Session, but working together to bring the good news and hope of Christianity to the City Centre. It ran from about 2005-2013 but was then dissolved by Presbytery as a formal organisation.

It continues to run through informal links, especially the "Big Issue" distribution centre in the Queen Street Chapel, manned by volunteers. There are also shared Holy Week services and jointly advertised shared events.

Abigail Ministries and Rev Daniel Rugut

Daniel Rugut was a regular attender at Queen Street Church when he was a student at Aberdeen University.  Now he is back home in Kenya and supported by Abigail Ministries.  Kathleen Innes of Queen Street has been a tireless fundraiser for Abigail and Daniel and her enthusiasm has rubbed off.

Kathleen and Donna and Ian went to Kenya in February 2011 to help build a new Seed School. Details and pictures of their trip can be found here.
Ian's Picture Gallery is here.

The present school uses a leased building which has proved costly and can be terminated at any time.  Land has been secured nearby to build a new school which will give the children more security and will be less costly to run.   Donna also spent time helping at the local hospital.

Please can you help us raise enough money to help buy materials for the school and hospital.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.   So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
